Professional Activity

Along with her work with the ensemble Dialogos, Katarina Livljanic is active as scholar in medieval music. PhD in musicology, she is a Maître de conférences in medieval music at the Sorbonne University in Paris, where she directs a Masters programme in medieval music performance. She is a member of the research center Institut de recherche en musicologie (CNRS - Université Paris Sorbonne), of the Laboratoire d’excellence Religions et Sociétés dans le Monde Méditerranéen, and of the Cantus Planus research group of the International Musicological Society.

  • Montecassino, Archivio dell'Abbazia, ms. 542. Antiphonaire (12e s.), Editions de Solesmes, 2014 (coll. Paléographie Musicale, vol. XXIII).

    The antiphonary conserved in the archives of Benedictine abbey at Monte Cassino is one of the oldest witnesses to liturgical office chant from 12th-century Southern Italy, and contains some elements from the local tradition of Beneventan chant. This manuscript, written in Beneventan notation, also contains several fine miniatures.
